Robot Jungle Attack

As a kid I loved setting up toys into different scenes based on what the toys were. Most of my toy photography is simply fulfilling that same desire as an adult.

Many of the projects start from looking at toys long enough to imagine them in a fantasy scenario, this was no different. The robot had been sitting on a shelf for a few years and it was time to create something. After a few stops at various toys stores and Home Depot for a the set materials this project was underway.

A real background captured in camera always looks better than a dropped in sky. In the photos you can see the plastic chair that was used to create the background lighting. By putting the strobe in the bend of the chair a gradient was created that simulated a sunrise. You’ll also notice there was only 1 plane. It was all that was available and was duplicated in Photoshop.
